Service and Mission

As followers of Jesus, we are called to show our love by serving others. Jesus gave Himself for us on the cross and raises us to new life. We are called to share that message of God's good news with our community and with the world. We engage in a number of service and mission programs at Holy Comforter that are designed to do just that.

Advent Conspiracy

For the last two years at Holy Comforter, we have sought to reclaim the seasons of Advent and Christmas from the culture of consumerism and materialism that has hijacked them.

Aid for Friends

Aid for Friends is a ministry that feeds the needy, shut-ins, and the frail elderly in the greater Philadelphia area. Once a month members of Holy Comforter gather to cook meals for the program. Parishioners also transport the meals downtown to the Aid for Friends headquarters.

Partership in Peru

This mission partnership allows us to provide fresh, clean drinking water for all the people of Peru, along with the living water of the Gospel for those who are called to receive it.

Women of Holy Comforter

The Women of the Church of the Holy Comforter seek to unite the Women of the church in a program of worship, service, study and fellowship.  We are blessed with a dedicated group of women who are kind to one another as we serve the Lord, our fellow parishioners, and
